When I volunteered to watch my friend’s german shepherd, I had no idea how much damage one dog could do to hardwood floors. He was used to a carpet-only house, and his claws were never trimmed. After about a week, I noticed my hardwood floor was looking strange. After two weeks, the floor was scratched everywhere. I tried to buff it out myself but had no luck. Basically, I wasted $30 a Wal-Mart on fancy ‘restoring compounds.’ The floors were almost brand new, so I hated to have them replaced again. Luckily, I saw a commercial for a local hardwood floor contractor a few weeks later. One of the services they offered was refinishing. I had the Minneapolis hardwood floor refinishing contractor come to my house the next day, and they brought some fancy machine that removed the first layer of sealant and replaced it. My hardwood ended up shinier than when I bought it!
