We recently moved out of a house we were renting and manged to end up in a bit of a situation. After moving almost all our things out of this house we had only two things left to bring over. One was a small wine rack that we stored various fine wines we had been given or collected on our travels and the other item was a somewhat large entertainment center. Most of our friends decided to go get some dinner after a full day of moving and me a couple that had stayed behind decided to have a go at moving the entertainment center ourselves. I offered to lead with the short-sided end and figured it wouldn’t be an issue. Well as I was passing the wine rack I lost my grip and tripped as I tried to regain control of my end. And wouldn’t you know it I fell backwards right into the rack putting a hole in the drywall behind it and breaking several bottles in the process.
Wine was absolutely everywhere and of course the living room carpet was white. After picking up the glass and soaking up as much of the liquid as possible most of the mess was cleaned up, that is except for a massive stain. Growing concerned I went and rented a steam cleaner which ultimately did little to solve the issue. At length I hopped on the internet in search of a possible solution and found this page with quite a bit of information on carpet care for future reference but at this point in my debacle it was beginning to look grim. We had a considerable amount invested in the security deposit on that place and were depending on that money put a down payment on a house. As it was I already had to go to live with the in-laws for a couple months to save up money to get into our new house and replacing all that carpet would be a considerable set back.
At this point I was beginning to loose hope that the carpet could be salvaged. Further into my research I learned that professionals could make use of much more sophisticated equipment than your typical homeowner so I decided to give that a try. After browsing a few companies’ sites I found these Puyallup carpet cleaners with reasonable pricing who claimed to keep up to date on all the latest techniques. When their experts arrived I explained my situation to them and they assured me the damage could be reversed but I was still apprehensive. I must say though, when all was said and done I was pretty impressed. The carpet looked as though the whole thing never happened and we got our deposit back! I am grateful for their friendly services and there is only one company we will trust with the carpets in our new home.
